Just returned from York Rowntree having been a member for 7 years and have used this site every year but this time we had problems. First the good stuff great site with 1st class location and excellent facilities. Now the issues having been told and after reading the reviews to confirm our fears of using the Millennium bridge at night (groups of youths verbally and physically assaulting users of said bridge after dark) we took advice because of ongoing flood defence works the site wardens advised using the rear gate!! be warned it is up a steep tarmac slope with no separate path and is shared with the Motorhome waste drain and is wet and NOT SALTED my wife had a bad fall and was laid up for two days and is battered and bruised we also saw another gentleman fall on day 2. its a matter of time before a serous injury happens. Our second point is in the past and on the welcome pack the site says gas is for sale we was laid up using extra gas (We have no electric heating in our Hymer) so having run out I went to reception and was told they no longer sell gas (Please update your site information) a kind camper who knew of the problem helped us out in the end.
