This is such a magnificent site ... but it is not the site that most impresses ..... facilities, staff, roomy and huge spacious pitches all pale into the background as it is the location that is outstanding about this site. 10 minutes on foot ... yes 10 minutes from Clifford's Tower ... the start of York's central attractions. Even though there are flood defence works happening don't let the comments and whinges about these put you off. The place is brilliant. Notable shout outs to 'the swan' (fantastic traditional pub no music no 1 arm bandits), the slip inn ( a little more modern but no nonsense stuff) , bish road bohemiam delis, coffee houses, and bakeries. I could wax lyrical about the York attractions but they are well documented. My joy at having a fantastic 5 nights at this site in fantastic weather mid march knows no bounds. Ab Fab ;-)
