We very rarely use Club Site( too many people,too many rows and too many rules). We actually use almost exclusively CLs, in fact this is the only site that we have used more than once. The reason we use this site is that it is walking distance to the centre of York. I admit I didn't read the confirmation email detailing the diversion to access the site but this was not a great problem. The site is fine like all Club sites. Just not something we really like. My complaint was about walking access to the site. We come to York to go shopping and visit some of the excellent pubs and restaurants ( we live in an isolated rural area so its just about our nearest city ). The rear pedestrian entrance to Vine street was an acceptable detour to access the site up to 10 pm when it is padlocked!. This puts an extra approx 1 and half mile walk to access the front gate. at 11 pm after hard day of site seeing shopping and eating thats a bit of a tall order. The gate is a secure one with a sturdy lock and firm foundations with protective wire around. We shall not visit the site again until the access problems are sorted out.
