Amazing site right by sandy beach and very peaceful. Super coastal walks along golf courses/ coastline. Easy access to bus stops about 20min walk down safe road. Great bus service to Edinburgh and N Berwick. Lovely pub in village - dog friendly too. Great pitches in lots of ‘enclosures’ amongst trees/ shrubs etc. Lots birds/ deer to spot. Shower block clean and best hot showers we’ve used to date! Loads to see and do even without a car. Will def return as loved it. Staff lovely and very dog friendly. Small shop on site. Great info room.
A place we come back to year after year!
We have just returned from a 12 night stay at what is our favourite site bar non! We've been coming here since 2007 and to be honest not alot has changed it's true the shower block is dated but it is also kept clean and tidy and is functional and the phone signal and WiFi are not the best but come on folks we don't come on holiday to be on our phones and device's all the time at least we don't! Surely that's why you choose a place like Yellowcraig to enjoy the peace and tranquility or maybe I'm missing something? 🤔 The site had like many other places suffered significant rainfall and as I'd booked a grass pitch (personal preference) I was worried however about the ground, apart from it being a little softer than usual it was pretty good!
The site does benefit from the new initiative of not mowing the grass banks and little nooks and crannies they looked great with the wild flowers and grasses a real help to native flora and fauna.
The new centralised rubbish collection is in my opinion maybe not quite as good an idea as hoped? The reason for this is people are less likely to walk from the far end of the site to recycle a few cans, bottles etc instead they are more inclined to put everything in the same bag and drop it off when leaving the site thus most it ends up in landfill, in fact I even witnessed 2 people drive from their pitch put the rubbish in the bin and drive back! Now that's not helping the environment or saving the planet, so maybe a rethink on that one?
So now the thorny subject of dogs, and before anyone goes off on one I currently have 3 and have had 4 at once which have all enjoyed a holiday(s) at Yellowcraig and various sites now I don't suggest mine are perfect but what they are is quiet. I could put the pitch number in (but won't) this certain individual sat out enjoying like the rest of us the great weather we were lucky enough to have and allow his dog to bark repeatedly most afternoons not once telling it to be quiet I can only imagine that this was one of the many dogs bought during COVID and never socialised or given any training? Also why do people think it's ok to let their furry baby outside their camper, caravan and do it's business yards from where they and other people are? My dogs get walked 1st thing in a morning (off site) again during the day and last thing at night it's people like this that will ruin it for the responsible owners so please either take the time to educate yourself and more importantly your animal or leave them at home.
To finish on a positive note this is a great site run very well by Darren and Sam and their team I urge people to visit trust me once you've been you'll want to come back!!
Lovely stay
We’ve recently enjoyed a 10 night stay at Yellowcraig site.
The site is beautifully maintained, lots of open green spaces and lovely areas which are left to grow for wildlife, full of poppies, grasses and other wild flowers. They really complement the site and add to its attractiveness.
Location is great, next to a lovely dog friendly beach. The nearest village is Dirleton, there is a pub and castle. North Berwick is about 3 miles away and us a very pretty, quaint town with a high street, eating places, food shops and beach.
The only negatives I have about the site is that WiFi coverage is not site wide, it seems to stretch up to the pitches before the toilet block and even then it is a bit patchy. It’s a shame the club hasn’t invested in better WiFi facilities.
The showers are ok, quite dated and could do with replacing but they are functional.
The wardens are very friendly and helpful.
This site is popular with dog owners (we have 2), it’s an easy walk to the beach with dogs.
Overall, this is a lively site, friendly wardens, WiFi could be better, location is great and surrounding area is beautiful. Big thumbs up. 👍👍
Great site - especially good for dog owners.
There was a queue when we arrived on Friday afternoon but the wardens dealt with it well by coming to each vehicle and checking us in so we could just drive through without getting out. Very clean facilities. Loos are cleaned between 10.30 and 12 which is quite a long period of time and a bit inconvenient timing on your leaving day when you've emptied your Thetford! There were two spare loos but be prepared to queue on a busy weekend. The children's play area is focused on young children but there is a bigger more adventurous park just outside the site as you walk towards the beach. There was a couple of lads playing football on site on the Saturday night which upset their neighbours. Maybe they were non-members who didn't know any better. Some of the pitches are in cul-de-sacs which are a really lovely arrangement but there isn't much room for manoeuvring if you drive in and there are no spaces. Witnessed some great caravan reversing! Short walk to a lovely dog/child -friendly beach and you can walk into North Berwick along the John Muir Trail - about three miles each way but flat terrain. North Berwick is very dog friendly too. Dog walk on site is big and spacious and my pooch loved the doggy station provided by the wardens that included water, treats, balls and poo bags. Very well thought out. WiFi not great so had to use the hotspot near Reception. Recommend this site and will return.
Very pleasant site but WiFi needs improvement
Had a pleasant stay for 3 nights despite it pouring down most of the time.
Easy to reach the delightful resort of North Berwick in ten minutes by car or bike.
Staff very friendly, helpful and conscientious.
Best to take a tv aerial or satellite system because WiFi and phone reception are both poor. On wet days that does make a difference.
The club’s booking system did the site a disservice because it appeared that the site was fully booked when in fact it had plenty of vacant pitches. Check by ringing.

Great Location And Clean facilites
This is a great site on a great location. Walking distance to a lovely beach and walkable to North Berwick.
The site is very clean and staff helpful.
The only downside is that it is a long walk to dispose of your rubbish and recycling. There used to be bins but now they have moved them to a central location. They cite that it is to save on plastic bags but I guess it is a cost-saving measure (and the site is not cheap). From a sustainability perspective (as a sustainability consultant) the notices that have been put up are a bit of greenwash. The moving of the bins to one location results in minimal saving of plastic. Think about the number of bags that are used by customers in comparison. I would prefer the site to be honest and say it is for cost saving...
Good choice
Normally we use CL’s but this was the best available where we needed to be. We are so glad we chose it. Wonderful welcome from friendly wardens. The site is large (for us) so we weren’t sure what to expect. There were lots of different areas to choose from, large open grass pitches to smaller tree edged pockets of pitches.
Some pitches had open views over fields. Overalll a very quiet site when we were there (midweek) and we had a good nights sleep.
The toilet block was very good with clean, warm facilities. We personally found the noise of the fans from the toilet block quite noisy though, then again we usually use CL’s so maybe we’re just not used to it.
The bonus for us was you could stroll from the site and you were on a beautiful beach within a short time.
Easy to drive into North Berwick. We would definitely return.

Fabuous site by a beautiful beach
Excellent site by wonderful yellow craig beach. Easy to access with good signage. Friendly and efficient welcome. Choice of available pitches. Clear instructions and information. Clean well maintained toilets and showers. Peaceful. Great dog walking. Wonderful birds and wildlife in area. Walk to North Berwick easy. Walk to pub nearby. Great to see the care the site managers took of the environment. Planting tubs with flowers and herbs. Really good information area. Nothing but praise for this site. Thank you.
Excellent Peaceful and Relaxing site
We had our first trip of the year, and our first visit to Yellowcraig and have both decided it will not be our last. We were sorry we were only there for 3 nights but plan to return with friends with their camper van.
The site managers are excellent, very friendly and welcoming, are hard working and keep the site and facilities spotless and very well maintained. We read some negative reviews about the facilities being dated but we have to disagree, they are cleaned within an inch of their life.
The site is next door to the Yellowcraig beach which is lovely and clean and was family and dog friendly with an ice cream van in the car park at the top of the path leading to the beach.
The site is in an excellent location with North Berwick, various attractions, museums and historical locations on it's doorstep. We would recommend a visit to Archerfield Walled Garden, we had a lovely lunch in the farm shop cafe.
Lovely Yellowcraig
We had a five night stay at Yellowcraig a couple of weeks ago and found it to be a lovely site, well presented and maintained by friendly staff. The facilities are very good too, maybe a touch dated but superbly clean as is the whole site. It was a memorable stay with easy beach access and good walks all around.
Our only complaint was noisy dogs which were not under proper control... a team of three Akitas, one of which whimpered and whined constantly for attention and a couple of Labradors which barked for attention if they weren't included in family activities. This is not in any way a complaint against dogs, there were plenty of others which were no bother at all but it is a complaint against owners who do not consider other members who go away for a quiet and peaceful stay in the countryside.
It would be a help if the site wardens were able to keep a closer eye on this situation on all sites, after all it is a condition of the club site rules.
