Called here for 3 nights after Southport. Was expecting the usual standard of facilities but was sad to see a tired toilet block and very few service points. The toilets in the ladies were hanging off the wall and were avoided wherever possible. The staff were really helpful but sadly couldn't do anything about the fact the block is desperately in need of refurbishment. The site itself is in a beautiful location. A short walk turning left from the site takes you to the local sailing club. Walk along the jetty and see beautiful sunsets or just sit on the benches and take in the view. West Kirby and Hoylake were lovely. On the subject of the bird scarers If you have a noise phobic child or dog then this is not the site for you. They are shotgun sounds twice every half hour from 5.30am until 10pm. They terrified my little dog. Please check with the site before booking to see if they are in operation. We will be back but not until a full refurbishment of the toilet block takes place and definitely not when the bird scarers are in operation.
