I Wish I Could Recommend It

The numerous pots and hanging baskets full of colourful flowers that greet you at the reception office might look nice but they can't really disguise that The Wirral Country Park is a bit shabby and run down. If I'm being polite you could probably call it "tired", but truthfully it needs some urgent TLC and serious money being spent on it. The roads around the site are badly pot-holed and flood badly after anything more than light rain. The hardstandings are scruffy and look tatty. The toilet block is definitely in need of refurbishment too. Two fresh water points on a site of this size is a woefully inadequate provision to be honest and I heard people complaining about it. It annoys me that the club has undoubtedly spent a small fortune on a pointless and wasteful rebranding exercise which nobody asked for, when sites like The Wirral Country Park are clearly crying out for some investment. Someone has definitely has got their priorities wrong. It is all a bit sad really because the site in in a lovely situation on the Dee estuary and the Wirral is a really interesting location and a good place to tour from.
