Almost Perfect

Our first time here and not sure what to expect but what a surprise. Tucked away down a side road and looking out over the Dee estuary. Brilliant. The site itself is well maintained as you'd expect but there are signs it's showing its age. A few potholes in the access roads and some of the toilet fittings are a bit loose bu,t overall, well looked after. Toilets may be a bit busy during holidays as the blocks are a bit on the small side and could maybe do with extending? There is a good kids play area in the middle of the site and if you're a dog owner, you're spoilt for choice. Just 5 minutes down to the beach - more sand covered mud flats - and several walkways to get there. Be careful of the beach as some areas could be quicksand-like. We were told by a local that someone had to be pulled out just a week before we arrived. As for the Wirral, what a surprise! So much to see and do. Too much for our short visit but we managed Cheshire Oaks Retail Park, Port Sunlight ( a must) and the Boat Museum (another must). No time to make it into Liverpool but that will be for next time. We're already trying to decide when to go back as it's so good.
