Spent 10 nights here in May. Our 3 rf visit. Great site and very friendly staff.
Top price bracket but facilities are dated and limited. If the site was full they would not be sufficient . In need of refurbishment and a big expansion program.
Eurovision weekend stay!
Arrived on site and warmly welcomed by the team.
We were given a great recommendation for a pitch (thanks Graham!), which we jumped at and had a great 4 night stay. We picked this site when researching for potential sites to stay at for Eurovision - and what a great choice this was..
Close proximity (4 miles) to the railway station (West Kirby - and a quick shout out to Merseyrail during the weekend for a fantastic service).
We were overlooking the Dee estuary from our pitch (grass with hook up) and could happily watch tide coming and going all day. We loved the Wirral and this site is a credit to the area - facilities spotless, and the whole site was maintained beautifully. Great walks from the site and good road & rail connections.
We will definitely make a point of visiting again on a future trip to the area.
Douze points!
Love this site - but disappointed in recent visit.
We are regular visitors to this site as it’s only an hour away for us. It’s one of our favourites. Great location and lots to do in the area. Always spotlessly clean toilet block and site is kept tidy. Disappointed slightly with our last visit. Half the children’s play park was out of action. Issues with the drains - we ended up with a huge puddle on our pitch as the water wouldn’t drain away.
Fantastic - can’t believe we have never been before!
This site has been on our “want to go” list for a few years and we finally made it in April. We had 10 brilliant nights here - the site really does have it all. Bike rides from outside the site, walks galore, easy access to Liverpool and Chester.
The site itself is very well run by a helpful team of wardens. We had a problem with our electric cable not reaching, but I was helped straighten it out by one of the wardens so it did reach - a 20m straight line! It’s great to cycle up to New Brighton and beyond - we even took our bikes over to Liverpool on the Mersey Ferry.
Being keen parkrunners we did the Birkenhead parkrun, a 20 minute drive across the Wirral.
The network of old railway line paths and cycle ways really is impressive. We’ll definitely be going back.
What a fantastic introduction to caravanning!
As newcomers to caravanning, this was only the second time we'd taken our new tourer out and we were delighted with our stay. The site is in a stunning location overlooking the Dee Estuary and the facilities were spotlessly clean. It's in a great location, with Liverpool just 25 mins away and historic Chester just down the road. The staff were welcoming, friendly and informative and don't forget to take the short walk down the Wirral Circular Way to Flissy's for some wonderful refreshments! They love dogs too!
A return visit
We like this site for a short visit not too far from home. It has just what we need, near the sea, nice walking along the Wirral Way and on Thurstaston Common, Figo's Mediterranean Restaurant in West Kirby
The site and facilities are well maintained by the friendly wardens.
Unfortunately there is no longer a shop which isn't generally a problem for us but it would have been good to know beforehand then we would have brought an extra pint of milk with us (we bought a carton of long-life when we walked to West Kirby).
Also take 2 bags to hang up in the shower because there is no stool, I can't remember whether that was the case last year. It is often the case in other sites but this is the first time I thought to take one bag with clean clothes, the other for what I was taking off.
Apart from that, we enjoyed our visit and will be back, even though it seems relatively expensive compared to other sites.
Huge Thanks to Site Staff!
We would like to thank the staff at Wirral Country Park Site for their immediate, knowledgeable and calming response when our caravan leisure battery ‘imploded’ with steam pouring out of our battery box and the battery ‘red hot’!!
This also meant that our motor mover would not be operable which gave us great concern as we were unable to hitch up the caravan as we were about to leave after our fourth visit to Wirral site. We would particularly like to thank the two site staff who manhandled and hitched the caravan for us. They then assessed and checked that all necessary systems were in working order to enable us to travel the 120 miles home safely. We were so grateful for their help, reassurance and advice. Many thanks again.

A site with a wonderful location
The site is in a beautiful location with well spaced level pitches. The facilities are clean and the staff on site could not have been more helpful. We will be back if we are in that part of the country!

No on site shop this year!
First of all, the site Wardens as always were very helpful and friendly despite having to work in atrocious weather!
Now for the bad part.
There is no longer any shop on site for any essential supplies whatsoever. This is nothing to do with the Wardens, but a stupid decision by higher management. If you forget anything now it’s a tri into Heswall or Irby. Not ideal if you’re in a Motorhomes and just itched up to realise you forgot teabags!
This seems to be such a silly decision that’s taken away facilities for us , the members. No more ice creams or cold drinks on the way back in after a walk in the sun/warmer weather.
I’m still waiting for a reply to an email to head office on this subject 5 days later.
But, the site itself is well worth visiting and excellent for us that have dogs with them.
Geocaching Trip
Had three nights at this site on the Wirral to go out Geocaching on our bikes. The site is very well run by top class wardens so cheers guy's great job. Only negative is the price of £31 for 2 people with a motorhome in October for me is way over the top you can see why we get over into Europe as much as we can as price on sites as good as here would be far lower especially at this time of year.
