First the good stuff: The site is kept in really good order. It's not what I would describe as a "pretty" site in terms of trees and hedging etc but it's clearly functional and well maintained. The brand new toilet/shower blocks are quite exceptional and probably the best I have seen in any club site. The staff are friendly and helpful. The site is in a great position if you don't want to use your car to get out and about. The 64 bus stop is about a 5 minute walk away from the site entrance. On one side of the road the bus goes into Alton and on the other side it goes into Winchester. The buses go every 30 minutes or so. The bad stuff; The site is very close to the A31 road. There is a lot of traffic noise from first light to late at night. We are not just talking about a distant "rumble" either. Some cars and especially motorbikes delight in screaming up the road as if it were a race track. There is also a nearby gun club that adds the sounds of shotguns to the cacophony. Its a real shame. The site has a great deal going for it but if you are looking for a peaceful break in the countryside lulled to sleep at night by the sounds of nature this is probably not the site for you.
