Great stay at beautiful site.
Lovely site with plenty of grassed space around generous shingle hardstanding pitches. Best facilities block at any Club Site seen so far and immaculately kept. Very helpful staff. We stayed for 3 nights in early October and the site way quite empty and very quiet.
We are a retired couple with a motorhome and this was our first visit to the area. We like to be able to walk to places, take a bus or use our bikes. There is a cycle/footpath through a gate (key provided) and to the right would take you downhill to Ilfracombe, around 4 miles away. To the left on the path is a short walk till you reach roads. We didn’t cycle very far in either direction but the path is good. We took a 31 bus to Ilfracombe which we caught by walking on the cycle path to the right till we reached the road, turned left round a corner then crossed the road and waited on a short length of raised pavement about 50 yards right of the Fortesque Arms car park. On the way back we stayed on the bus as it went through Mortehoe and Woolacombe so we got a tour of the area for no extra charge. The second day we caught a 303 bus to Barnstaple from the same place, an interesting trip down very narrow lanes in places but a pretty drive. As the roads in the area are very narrow it isn’t safe to walk on them really so a car would be an easier way to see places.
The wifi was good for email and surfing the web for bus timetables etc. In all we enjoyed our stay on a great site.
