Could do better - sorry!

te We have just returned from Willingcott and echo Digby622 comments. We fully appreciated that due to Covid-19 there were going to be restrictions in place but these are far from ideal. Our observations are as follows: - You only get a hard standing pitch if they have any left. If they haven’t then it is grass only and these are not flat and the pitches are not easily marked. - The grass is very long and site looks untidy. - The site has one facilities block and only 10 people in total are permitted (5 men and 5 women). The facilities are closed for cleaning between 10 and 12, and then again between 5 and 6. During these times the 2 onsite service toilets are also closed for up to 30 minutes to be cleaned. Why not clean the service toilets separately so that there are always some facilities available? - As the toilets and showers are all in the same block with the same queue, you end up waiting a long time to use the loo. - The access road to the site is very very narrow in places with high hedges on both sides so if you meet a fellow caravanner coming the other way, you will have to reverse back to a passing point. I appreciate this is not the sites problem as it is a public road but people need to be aware of this. - The washing up facilities are well spaced out but it looked like only one sink was available for use so the queue for this area ends up merging with the shower, toilets and service toilet queues. - The site was very full whilst we were there. With such restricted facilities available, why are they allowing so many people on the site? Especially those who do not have any facilities of their own? - The children’s play area is closed but public ones are open. This has meant the children have to play around the site which is not ideal when it is so busy. We are all finding our feet and having to adjust but I feel more could be done to make the site better.

Totally agree - just had a week there and toilets closed like you say from 10-12 and again from 5-6 but at the same time for 30 minutes they also closed the 2 only service toilets!! What? and they often had no toilet paper left - long queues all the time. Why only one washing up basin open too? 3 roped off? surely common sense could have been applied and allowed people to use masks to use at least one other sink - again on a packed bank holiday weekend there were queues to wash up - they abandoned the band system on the bank hol weekend we were there but even though they felt it was safe enough to do that they didn't open up any more shower or toilet cubicles which remained roped off!! so now we had people queuing inside the toilet block itself waiting for the next loo to come free, why could some common sense not be applied and open the loos and showers to cope with the amount of people? Agree with the narrow lane approach - every day we went out we would get stuck meeting either local traffic or several times the local combine harvester and trailer from the farm down the road!!
