Our first but certainly not our last visit

This was our first visit to the area in general and Wharfedale CC site. We found the area stunning with lots of easy walks right off the site itself. There is a Spar shop about a 10 minutes walk away. We really enjoyed our visits to Kettlewell, Burnsall and of course the village of Grassington, perhaps known as Darrowby in the TV series all Creatures Great and Small. We were very impressed with the site, its cleanliness and the friendly and helpful staff. The facilities on site are beautifully kept. On arrival we received a warm welcome and lots of information, you can also buy from the little shop on site a very useful little waterproof map (£4.00) that identifies all the walks in the area and small local roads. There are a number of pubs within walking distant of the site, The Gamekeeper pub is right next to the site and The Old Hall is just a 15 minute walk away. We particularly enjoyed the Red Lion at Burnsall, a delightful pub set in beautiful surroundings overlooking the river. You can walk here following the river from Grassington or alternately a short drive of 3 miles. I must admit we did fall foul of club rules by parking our caravan slightly off the white peg. I was visited by a member of staff who explained in a perfectly reasonable manner why I needed to move my caravan 2 foot nearer to the white peg. I understood the reasoning when it was explained to me. I also have to admit we are new to caravanning so everyday is a school day for us at the moment. Thanks to the staff on site we will certainly return here in the near future. we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay and will certainly be returning and this time I will park on the white peg. Thanks once again to all the staff at Wharfedale CC, we had a great time Roy and Val
