Five nights -over too quickly

Due to not wanting to travel too far I changed my booking to Wharfedale and can honestly say I am glad I did. The site is simple to find and the access road is not a problem it does narrow in some places so just be a little careful. Access into the site is to the left of a larger leisure park and pub which you can use if that's your thing. Check in was easy and friendly we arrived well after the manic must be there for noon crew (who actually turn up at 11am onwards) and we were guided to where some empty pitched might be that would suit us. Facilities have all been modernised and no fault can be found with them at all as they are kept very clean by the warden teams who do not stop! I would recommend that you take sufficient blocks to level your unit as some of the pitches look level but do have quite a slope. There are rabbits and squirrels on site and a couple of owls that you can hear but not see none of which gave any problems. There is a small shop at reception and as it's stocked by the wardens directly don't expect you are entering a branch of Tesco. There is a Spar a mile or so down the road. Speaking of shopping we forgot our chips and you just cannot have steak without them - having checked the shop the lovely warden gave us a handful of her own frozen ones. Now that is service over and above what's expected. The site was also decorated for the 40s weekend in Grassington and all the wardens were dressed up in costume - unfortunately you don't get to pay 1940s prices!! Also good to meet a member of the CAMC executive on site - good to speak to you!
