Good town break site

An adequate site with an approximately even mix of grass/tarmac. The MHSP leaves much to be desired and the chemical disposal point is a fair walk from the far end of the site. There is some background noise from aircraft overflying to BHX but not too intrusive. It did seem to disrupt the TV signal for which there are no aerial sockets on the EHU pillars. Plus points are the proximity to the town/ bus station/castle. Suitable for a 3/4 day break.

Close proximity to Warwick

Pleasant little site, you would be very close to the action if you were interested in the horse racing. Close proximity to centre of Warwick, a large supermarket and good pubs close by. Only downside is the toilet/shower block, although the staff keep it clean it is in need of refurbishment. Some road noise from the M40 and some aircraft noise but not too intrusive.

Castle Visit

The major advantage of this site is how close it is to the town of Warwick. As motorhomers this is the sort of site which is ideal for us. The town has good transport links with regular services from the Bus Station. A trip to Royal Leamington Spa is well worth while. The main purpose of this trip was to visit the Castle which is about a half mile walk from the site. Tickets on the gate are very expensive so its best to buy online before you go. The Club have an excellent online offer. The site is fairly typical racecourse with a mix of grass/gravel/tarmac pitches. We preferred the tarmac and had a nice view out over the racecourse. As has been said the toilet block is a bit dated. Other facilities like water and waste are fairly restricted and concentrated around the toilet block with one other tap at the other end of the site. The motorhome service point can be a bit difficult to access if there is a caravan and car on the adjacent pitch. Not their fault but I would suggest that the pitch marker should be moved back a bit. Unsurprisingly the motorhome drain point still needs heavy drain covers to be lifted. No WiFi here but found I could make use of 4G on my phone.

Another visit to Warwick

This is a small site with excellent dog walking around the racecourse. The wardens are friendly and helpful. Facilities are basic and slightly outdated but always clean. Not sure there was a separate toilet for when the shower blocks were being cleaned. Access to the town centre is very good and there are plenty of shops and cafes, some of which allow dogs inside. Be aware that Nero’s were not aware that their national policy was now to allow dogs. We can recommend The Portuguese Cafe across town, which is in Coten End near St Nicholas Park.

Great for the city

Another excellent city site and so well situated. This is not a criticism, just a statement that the site is now slightly dated compared to some others, but having said that all the facilities are there and are perfectly clean and usable but would benefit from upgrading in the near future. Maybe its the flagship sites that spoil you !!! Please dont let this put you off visiting, as its a site well worth returning to.

Great location for dog and local facilities

We used the site as an over night stop for a journey from the Forest of Dean to Norfolk. We were pleasantly surprised with the great dog walking facilities. The other great point was the close location only walking distance to the Center of town. We found a great CAMRA pub and a great chip shop. It was paradise.

Had Better weekends

This is the first time we have been to this site,Got to say it is in a great location for a stroll in to Warwick. The site itself is also set in a great position in the middle of the racecourse. Sadly I don’t think I will be returning to this site,There are 2 wardens and found the gentleman really nice and helpful and very talkative however I found the lady a bit rude with no sense of humor and NEVER said good morning back when you saw her,Yes I forgot to tell them what pitch I was on resulting in me not getting my gate/toilet code card and felt I had put them out when I ask for the codes, why You have to let them know what pitch your on is a mystery because they would be able to tell me which pitches are available to save the drive round the site to find the only pitch empty is the one opposite reception. The toilet block really needs to be brought up to date as well. I also found this site a little noisy with work going on behind us at 7.30am on a Monday morning (yes I go away to get up later than when I am at work),Next doors dog yapping at 07.15am and the owner keeps shouting it’s name instead of putting it the caravan (I know this is not the wardens fault):This sitehas great potential.

3 night stop over

Third time we have stayed at Warwick in our motorhome, first time was on tarmac which is ok for one night. Really warm welcome from the Wardens, nothing was too much trouble. No queues in the showers despite site being full. Location is perfect and the path going around the race track had just been laid in tarmac, lovely to walk around with or without dogs. Easy access to town and the Grand Union canal, nice gentle walk up the Hatton Flight locks and back. Would definitely return for a fourth time.

Summer 2018 stay at Warwick Raecourse Site

We stayed at Warwick Racecourse site for the first time for three nights end of June. We were surprised with this site having stayed at Exeter and Cheltenham sites previously. Small well layed out site within the inner part of the racecourse itself, reasonably secluded mostly and reasonably level. Just a short walk into Warwick itself with a nine hole golf course within the racecourse grounds. Warwick is a lovely English market town with excellent public transport close by and a choice of local facilities nearby and Tesco and Sainsbury’s supermarkets a short drive from the site.it was our first visit but won’t be our last here. The whole experience was helped by the good weather during this summers trip.

Caulkhead

a very compact site, I have been on CL sites that are bigger and only allowed 5 vans, the toilets are ok but if site is at capacity then 3 bogs are not enough. same old problem with Yappie dogs, noisy planes overhead through the night, not the best, but it served its purpose for want we wanted to do. I thought it a bit pricey..
