Troutbeck Tribulations
Visited the site for six nights in September. Good facilities, well maintained, if a little dated.
Reception was a bit surly, unusual experience, not helped by a condescending lecture about the pitch marker peg, despite 40 years caravanning on CC sites.
A major concern was enduring a days grass cutting around our caravan....by 3 strimmers ! CC stopped using lawn mowers ? Staff all had ear defenders....perhaps the CC should issue them to members !
Despite these negative experiences, the site is ideal for visiting the many attractions in the area, is located in an attractive area and is easy to access from the main routes. Plenty of excellent eating places nearby, Sportsman Inn is worth a visit for dinner.
We will return and hopefully enjoy a more receptive, and tranquil, experience.
