Rude wardens
We had a confrontational, rude and disrespectful arrival to this site due to the wardens. Due to terrible traffic during our 6 h journey, we arrived at the site just after midnight. We were feeling quite stressed as it was late and our family were waiting to let us into the park with their key (we were a self-contained small camper van sharing a pitch with a caravan- this had been organised before). Due to the lack of visible signposting, we drove the wrong way (at the 5 mph speed limit) and so had to turn around to get back to our pitch. At this point we didn’t know about the confusing, ridiculous one way system around the park. After finding the pitch and getting straight to sleep (without even setting anything up, as to stay quiet), two wardens with flash lights came over and stared shouting at us “what do you think you are doing”, one of whom had their head poked into the van window, with no face mask, in the middle of a pandemic! Ironically, they were shouting at us for accidentally driving the wrong way around the one way system, complaining that due to a complaint from someone on the other side of the site (that we had driven past) they’ve had to get out of bed! The wardens proceeded to accuse us of breaking and entering, it was really horrible to experience. These wardens approached the situation in a hostile manner, when it could have been solved amicably with a simple (low volume) conversation.
Needless to say, we spent the rest of the time on edge and uncomfortable, as we received no apology for the awful greeting we experienced.
In addition, the games room is over priced (it’s £1 per game or pool/hand football. The only good thing about this park is the (reasonably) clean shower block. Obviously, I won’t be returning and I hope that no other guests experience the hostility that we did due to a simple mistake.
