Good for families

Nice site but a few drawbacks

Troutbeck is a well laid out site in a great location for the more Touristy parts of the Lake District. It however has no Wi-Fi which isn't helpful at all. It is not as if the phone and mobile data signals are strong enough to fall back on. Readers will be thinking "You are in the Lake District stop whinging and go and get a walk" but when you have a 6 month old who needs something from a chemist it would be helpful to be able to find one easily. Keeping on the subject of little people, the Toddler Facilities here are really quite poor. Yes they have a bath, a changing table, a mini toilet and a sink but they are all crammed into something which would be better suited as a cleaners cupboard. It was the same in both blocks! The changing table folding over the bath has more use as a diving board for the more adventurous toddler than as something to undress and dress the child on. It is quite simply in a ridiculous position! You struggle to get the changed baby into the bath and then have to hold a soapy wringing wet baby with one hand whilst folding the table back down at the end of it's wash. My Son (now 7 months) has been on 5 caravan club sites already and this is the first one I have had issues on! The Toddler rooms need some thought and redesign. Also, one of the Wardens was so grumpy also he made Victor Meldrew look like Michael Mcintyre. Maybe having a bad day but I remember him from previous occasions!
