Good for families

Lovely setting

First time to this site and it won't be our last. Just back from and 8 night stay where we had good weather at the start which always helps, but the changing weather conditions only add to the dramatic scenery around the site. The site layout gives the feeling of different areas, so you don't feel the site is as large as it is. We set the caravan nose in as we then had a view across the stream, to the hills beyond. As you would expect from a club site, the toilet facilities are spotless and there never seemed to be a queue for the showers. If you have children, there are two play areas (only one in use when we were on site) and a games room, giving them something to do on site. Dog walk from the site up into the forest gave our Collie the freedom to run and stretched our legs. There is a shorter walk on site, towards the entrance but dogs have to be on leads here - good for an evening stroll or smaller dogs. Lovely and peaceful site, although the nearby Outdoor Centre can be noisy at times - quads, clay pigeon shooting etc, but its not all day although holiday periods might be busier. Fish & Chip van visits twice a week. Keswick and Penrith are a short drive away. Penrith having Morrisons and Sainsburys for a choice of supermarket and should not be missed for its smaller shops. Keswick has lots of little interesting shops. Loads to see and do in the area - too many to mention.
