Troutbeck Head Club Campsite in Penrith is set in classically beautiful north Lake District countryside, and is conveniently only 4 miles from the restaurants and shops of Ullswater. A fabulous getaway for nature lovers and walkers, the campsite nestles in a picturesque valley alongside a babbling brook.
Situated 10 miles from Keswick and below the Great Mell Fell, the site has spectacular views of Blencathra to the west and provides access to some of the prettiest walks in the country. For superb views of the central mountains, a drive over the dramatic Kirkstone Pass is not to be missed. This will lead you to Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere, where you can sample the local restaurants and explore some of Wordsworth's favourite haunts. A lake cruise on Ullswater is a must, with the option of a scenic walk between Howtown and Glenridding (only 7 miles away). For the energetic, the Rookin House Farm Centre next door to the caravan site offers plenty of fun activities - quad bikes, archery, go-karting, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding and much more.
The site provides easy access to numerous lakes, mountains, valleys & rivers, whilst pretty villages, country pubs and farm shops are plentiful, making Troutbeck the ideal destination for exploring and relaxing in the Cumbrian countryside.

Site is handy - not far from M6 and in the centre of the lakes for touring around. A few tight roads for motorhomes towards Ullswater. Keswick is where you’ll find the nearest shop, so be prepared and buy all your essentials before you arrive. We arrived... Show more
