Exceptional site.....

Stayed on this site during mid July. Site was full, but still remained quiet ... schools not fully broken up for the holidays. Facilities spotless, and the 3 sets of wardens ensured they remained so throughout our stay. Site flower displays were well tended. Facilities were spotless, but appear a little dated and tired....... painted rather than tiled floors. On several occasions the hand dryer or hair dryer was inoperative, but always an alternative available, and the faulty equipment would be working next day. Stunning views from some of the pitches, with plenty of great scenery nearby. Rookin House next door is an activity centre with Quad Biking and horse riding among the pursuits offered. Although close, you cannot hear the bikes from the site. We enjoyed our stay, but would ask members who have a hearing problem to remember that not everyone wants to hear their TV's or radio from 20 yards away!! 3 cheers for the wardens who had to contend with running the site and supervising a building site after Storm Desmond washed away 16 pitches and a playground !! Plug: Brackenrigg Inn on the way to Pooley Bridge is recommended as a watering hole -- great food, great value and the beer is from their own micro-brewery.
