Trades on its views
Spent 4 nights here in July. There is no doubt that this site has the most stunning coastal views and we watched some amazing sunsets.
However, views aside, there is too much variation in the standard of pitches. On our first night we were cited on a grass sloping pitch at the top of the site in what seems to be an overflow field. The nearest facilities are provided in a portacabin - really not impressed and definitely not what we expect from The Club when full prices are still charged.
We moved pitch the next morning as other locations became available - and discovered that moving is very common to the extent that it is known as the Tintagel Tango.
The pitches need re-dressing, the toilet blocks needs refurbishing and many of the areas were heavily overgrown with weeds which no doubt along with the heat appeared to have attracted adders sleeping underneath the vans/motorhomes.
The dog exercise field was useful and perfectly adequate.
We hired a car from Enterprise for the duration of our stay which allowed us to explore the area. Tintagel and Boscastle whilst pretty are limited in interest although Sharon's Plaice in Boscastle does serve very nice fish and chips in a garden with a shed bar.
