Good for families

Great Location and Superb Staff!

Stayed from 3rd to 19th July. Was on Aire Point (mixed caravans / tents) with great views. Note it is exposed to the wind so you will need adequate awning tie downs! A great location for walking with access to the SW Coast Path and within 15 minute driving distance of Penzance. Using a combination of local buses and own transport during my stay I managed to walk the coast path from St Ives to Lands End and on to Penzance. Also some of the Path around the Lizard (Just under an hour away). I timed my stay to try and to avoid school holidays, and it was noticeable that on the last two evenings the site got progressively rather busier and noisier with an influx of a large group of tenting families. (I did become rather concerned one evening that the children playing ball games just in front of my caravan appeared to be largely unsupervised by their parents who seemed not to care that the ball frequently got very close to the caravans). The toilet/shower block IS rather basic and dated, and I found keeping clothes dry in the shower cubicles a bit difficult, but I never found them dirty. I only had to wait briefly on one occasion to shower, but that might be happening more frequently now that the peak season has arrived. It was noticeable that quite a few people completely disregarded the notices requesting that they mop out after showering. The shop and café are great, with just about all the essentials you might need - and much more beside - for sale. However, the biggest plus for me was the friendly and helpful staff, and Wendy, the site owner, in particular. Due to my own stupidity I managed to wait at the wrong bus stop on my second or third day, and as a result missed the bus I was supposed to catch to take me to Zennor. As there was no other public transport alternative I trudged back to the site to re-think my day, but when I told Wendy of my stupidity she dropped tools and drove me to Zennor herself, a journey of about 25 - 30 minutes, and would not accept any payment for doing so. As a result I got to Zennor only just behind the bus I should have caught - thanks again, Wendy! I was aware that several other caravanners with problems were also very grateful for the quick and friendly help they received getting things sorted. The café food was freshly prepared and very tasty, and I particularly enjoyed the (locally produced) Roast Beef dinners on the two Sundays I was there - the quality and the size of the meat portion I was given put what you get at your local 'Toby' carvery to shame! So yes, there is room for improvement in the shower/toilet facilities (which the owners are aware of and have plans to do something about), but from my point of view things if more campers and caravanners observed a few of the common courtesies towards their fellow holiday makers things would be better for everyone. However I have no reservations in saying I am definitely happy to revisit Trevedra in the future!
