We were visiting family and friends in the area between Christmas and New Year. We read the reviews and were troubled by the mentions of road noise. When we got there we were so impressed with the site and location. It's so close to junc 28 M4 but the roundabout coming off the M4 is an absolute nightmare, each time we came back to the site we took the wrong turn off the roundabout but got there in the end. We had pitch 5 which is down on the left, we have dogs so wanted a quieter corner which this was. The site is very clean and tidy, nice and quiet, there was a little road noise but nothing that worried us and we're light sleepers. The toilet block is a little tired but kept extremely clean and well kept, it does need a little money spent on it but didn't really impact on its use. The site is within the grounds of Beautiful Tredegar house, the grounds are stunning to walk in and the dogs loved it, a beautiful lake to walk around. The site is really useful to get into Cardiff without being on top of it, we will certainly use it again hence not wanting to tell everyone how good it is. A little disappointed that there was a lack of engagement from staff when we booked out a day early (had to go home as father was ill) but not the end of the world.
