Not as convenient as we thought

As a campsite in its own right Tredegar House is a perfectly nice place to stay. It's only a short walk to the house. Not sure why everywhere I go everything is always covered in scaffolding!!! The renovations are nearly finished so that shouldn't be a problem for much longer. There are some interesting gift shops in the Park and a nice cafe. The site is quite wooded with lots of lovely mature trees only problem with this is that if you want to get satellite TV you have to select your pitch carefully, we were lucky we had a nice open aspect pitch. The toilet facilities are fine but just a shame the motorhome service point has not yet been converted to the open grill style so it still requires heavy metal grills to be lifted. Really needs to be more dish washing sinks. WiFi was dire which dropped out a lot of the time. There is always the hum of the motorway which will annoy some but I have to say once in the van we were not really aware of it. For shopping there is a small general store and a fish and chip shop just out the back of the Park near the cafe. About a mile away is a large ASDA supermarket which also does fuel. Our biggest disappointment was that our intention was to use the site for a visit to Cardiff. As motorhomers with a few mobility issues we wanted to use public transport. We only discovered after we arrived that it is a long walk to the bus stop. In the end we voted with our feet and took a taxi (fixed fare) to Newport station and got the train from there which was more relaxed albeit a more expensive option. I am not sure if this is possible but can't the Club negotiate a short cut access onto the road that circumnavigates the site to provide a shorter route to the buses?
