Lovely and historic site

This site is only a 30 min tow for us but this was our first visit. Easily accessible from the M4. A beautiful, manicured location set in the grounds of the National Trust managed house. The facilities were clean and warm and the grounds well kept. A card key allows access to the site but this must be removed from the holder to function - took us a while. An additional gate is locked at night for which you are provided a key. During the summer months (we visited in March) we would score 'peace and quiet' 3 as would spend more time outside. Although the weather was sunny (amazing!) it was too nippy to be lolling on deck chairs so were not affected by the road noise some reviewers mention. Country folk may notice it more but we only heard it inside the van when thinking about it. A decent national chain pub (The Dragonfly) and supermarket are close-by and walk-able for most. Brilliant for families as lots of grounds to exhaust little people. Delightful 3 night stay.We will return particularly as its so near to us - never think of looking locally!
