Stayed here for two nights at the end of March. The warden who checked us in was very friendly and had saved us a pitch near the toilet block as I have a disability. The site is a good location for a stop over or visiting Cardiff but due to the traffic noise, of which we had been notified before hand, I would not want more than two nights. Our main gripe is that there is only one toilet block with 4 showers available. I used the disabled room but closing the men's block at 10.30 for cleaning seems early when on holiday. No time for a leisurely breakfast before showering. If the site was full it would be a race to the showers. On our second morning wetrundled off at 10 to find there was no hot water and maintenance/repairs were being carried out on the boiler. If planned maintenance could this not have been delayed until normal closing time? If urgent there had not been a lot of publicity that there wouldn't be showers available. Very annoying. Watching many people going to the toilet block and quickly returning we were not the only ones to be caught out. Also whilst very clean the block is a bit tired and could do with updating and expanding to accommodate a full site.
