An excellent site but spoilt by overzealous warden

This is a lovely well kept site. Within the grounds of a National Trust house and large grounds. Excellent for walking the dog. Supermarket within an easy walk. Easy access to Cardiff and its attractions. However warden is very rule conscientious so beware! Told off for not following the rules about splitters at 0900 one morning. Didn't let it spoil our stay although we couldn't find any club rules banning them. Removed the offending device. On leaving I did query where was this rule to be told there wasn't one but they didn't approve of them and the club should have one!!

Were you 'told off' or simply told that you may not use a splitter?

So ,has the warden made their own rule ?

I doubt it. More likely following club policy rather than a rule.

I must be a bit dim,  but what is a "splitter"? undecided

Plugs into bollard and has two sockets coming off to allow two hook up cables normally. The club does say 'Shorter cables may not reach from the bollard to your van on some sites and extra connector cables to add length are not permitted.' Probably why the warden said no.

I guess a splitter at the caravan end would be Okay as that is what many of us have with that 240 socket on the awning side of the van.But one on the bollard I can see as being unhelpful. They can impede others plugging in the provided sockets and cause more cables across the 'common' areas around pitches. Just the one cable out from the hook up bollard seems very reasonable, safer, sensible and tidy to me. If you want to split, do it at 'your' end on your pitch!

Thanks, Alan. So it seems the warden was doing the right thing then?

I think so Moulesy
