Peaceful site with lovely woodland walks

We stayed here for a week in mid-August.  The site was busy at weekends but very quiet during the mid-week period.  Good hard standing pitch (43).  It was well into the site but nicely positioned for the evening sun - not that there was much! The wardens were very friendly and keep the site in excellent order.  There are numerous relatively short woodland walks from the site but many others nearby.  The information hut is well stocked with details. The Desert Rats memorial and walk through the 1944 camp area was very interesting. Apart from the birds the only noise (nuisance) comes from US Airforce jets which fly quite low every weekday but not until after 8am! I have to say we enjoyed watching them. Apart from the local walks we found Sheringham Park was an excellent National Trust park with lovely walks.  Just a car park charge if not members. Well worth the drive.  We also had a trip to Morston Quay - also NT - with coastal paths to enjoy.  We parked late morning and walked to Blakeney. At that time it was very quiet but when we returned in the afternoon the car park was overflowing with people looking to join the seal watching trips that leave from the quay - tide dependent. Overall lovely location with considerable peace and quiet even in mid summer holiday time.
