Excellent site for Covid-19 lockdown!
We found ourselves - “vulnerable over seventies” in a predicament when the club closed its sites in late March as part of the coronavirus lockdown. Our UK residence was unavailable because our daughter, a speech therapist, was on front-line duty at St Thomas’ Hospital treating Covid-19 positive patients.
The site wardens, Keith and Sarah, were magnificent and took up our case with club management who confirmed that we could, along with others in a similar predicament and key workers, stay on site. And so we’re writing this review as the lockdown is being lifted after fifteen weeks of continuous stay on site - surely a club record!
We’re able to look back and agree fully with all the other positive reviews about how relaxing this no-facility site is with its forest location and opportunities for walking, cycling and taking in the flora and fauna. The peace here is only shattered from time to time by RAF and USAF fighters taking off from the nearby bases towards the North Sea to keep their skills up to scratch.
We found Sarah and Keith, the experienced site wardens, to be professional, friendly and helpful. We noticed their attention to the small details around the site as well as their knowledge of the surrounding forest and its flora and fauna.
Through this review we’d also like to express our thanks to the club for its key worker and vulnerable people policy that allowed us to maintain isolation here during this unprecedented time.
