We stayed at the Woods in the busy part of summer so found it way too busy for us - site was full. Luckily we managed to get a pitch at the bottom of the site near the lodges, so had beautiful views of hills, but we did not realise they had a huge camping field right behind us with no hedge and so when that got full of families, it became too noisy as we are a couple with no kids who like things reasonably quiet. We would not have booked had we know it had a large campsite for this reason as we know they are popular with large families/groups of friends. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant on site served fabulous food - really top notch stuff and staff were lovely in there too. I was surprised that everyone found the toilets immaculate though as when we were there they not good at all. I think with there being a lot of campers, the showers unfortunately were full of grass and mud as were the floors. 3 of the toilets had broken flush things, 1 broken seat and one didnt flush at all. Perhaps we were just unlucky as I think they did get cleaned regularly but in the mornings they were muddier than we are used to with there being campers on site. This site would suit families as the kids seemed to all have a ball in the play area,but too hectic for us.
