Sandringham

Just returned from a 5 night stay here, it was the first time we've been here. The facilities, in common with other CC sites, are good and always clean. We found quite a few of the pitches were sloping, we were unable to get the MH level on the first 2 we tried, but it was 3rd time lucky. It's a good site for walking in the immediate vicinity of the site, and you can walk all the way up to Sandringham House. Fish&chip van and pizza van visit several times a week, we didn't try those out so can't comment on that. We cycled to Hunstanton one day and to King's Lynn the next. The cycle route (No 1) runs quite close to the site, but to access it, it involves crossing the busy A149. Not recommended for families with young children. The other alternative would be to turn left out of the site, then first left and you can pick it up at the next crossroads, but of course that involves extra distance. Cycling with the Sandringham Estate is only allowed on tarmac paths, there are notices to this effect. WiFi for us was ok, but then we were pitched next to a mast! Other people appeared to have problems, judging by some who took their tablet with them on the dog-walk, which runs past a mast. Overall an enjoyable stay, despite having torrential rain on 2 days, but there is nothing anybody can do about that!
