A second beautiful stay at this idyll

Well, we came back, as it was that good the first time.... So, peaceful, rural, spacious and scrupulously well maintained. A pub literally across the road from the site that's reasonable enough and has Wifi. We had a pitch overlooking the beck, and turned our van to face it as we did last time, so our view was the trees and the beck. The birds are out in force now so if you enjoy having a birdfeeder by your van, this is a good place. There were a couple of cheeky grey squirrels around, but also a beautiful rabbit doe who was out most afternoons and evenings around the carvan. We did a nice walk from Bank Top (5 mins drive up the 1 in 3 hill next to the site) where there are the remains of ironstone smelters to gawp at and car parking. We walked along the track of the old railway around the valley to the Lion pub at Blakey Ridge - 5 miles each way and a great pub to have lunch at. Watch out for Grouse chicks in the heather at this time of year! I have a feeling we will be back again. Wonderful wardens who as ever, would offer help and advice if we needed it, and who keep the site pristine. My hat goes off to them!
