A perfect holiday on a perfect site

We stayed here in late June and were lucky enough to have fantastic weather but we would have enjoyed the site even in the rain. Pub across the road (friendly, reasonable & good food), shop & tea room round the corner - lovely evening strolls through the village, stunning drives up Chimney Bank and across the moors and above all peace & quiet. Some of us members are getting a little concerned about the trend towards the "jammed in tight and all hardstandings" sites. We love quiet sites, grass pitches, and do not need all singing all dancing facilities as we have those in our caravan and don't particularly like having to queue for a shower. A bonus is these sites are cheaper which means we can afford to go away more often. The wardens on this site were terrific, friendly & helpful - the road noise was very much confined to the "rush hour" periods morning & evening and didn't unduly bother us - believe me we have been to noisier sites. If our fellow members want wifi, shower blocks, good phone signals etc etc they maybe need to choose their sites more carefully. The vast majority of the club sites these days are fully equipped with everything you need in this modern world - us, we crave peace when we go away so more sites like this please and less of the miniature towns!
