A Good Find

We booked this site as a one night stop off on the way home from a holiday in Devon. We also wanted to explore somewhere new. The site was a really good find for us. Level pitches, good facilities and welcoming wardens. We could see that many of the grass pitches were still drying out following flooding but the site itself was dry and safe. It is a few minutes walk to Tewkesbury Abbey which is well worth a visit. We also enjoyed walking around the outside during the quiet evening as the exterior of the building and surronding trees are beautiful. At present, peregrins are nesting at the Abbey and (if lucky) may be seen with binoculars both from the Abbey grounds and the balcony outside the site facilities block. It is an easy stroll into the town with many independent shops and eateries. A particular recommendation is The Cross House Tavern, a micro pub on Church Street that serves a great choice of beer and cider straight from the cask.
