Return visit
Having visited this site several times but not for about two years, we had a very pleasant surprise at the changes that have been made. We chose a hard standing which took the form of a block paved surface. This would preclude setting up an awning on it as pegs could not be hammered in. However, an awning could be set up on the grass to the side of the pitch. There were only a few of this type of pitch and the rest were normal hard standings or grass. Most pitches are level.
The new facilities block was superb and kept immaculately clean. A vast improvement from the old facilities. The site is a stone's throw from the town centre where there are numerous restaurants and pubs. Also the Abbey is well worth a visit as is the John Moore's museum. There is a bus stop about 200 metres from the site entrance with frequent services to various destinations.
As usual the wardens were very friendly and helpful and kept the site extremely tidy.
