Refurbishment is good but could be better.
Just spent 2 nights there in our motorhome. I appreciate all the work that has been done in the refurbishment but it's not the first time that the club has done a site refurbishment so why are there problems with the underfloor heating? It's a well known fact this type of system has a slow response time and should be left running 24/7. Very cool inside inside and not helped by extract system blowing air in over toilets! "Energy saving" handryers definitely saved energy blowing out very little heat, taking up to 2 minutes to warm up.
Why only have 2 chemical toilet disposal points? One in the main facilities (up the stairs in the main facility) really cramped for space and inadequate floor drainage for the run off from the anti-syphon hosepipe fitting. The second disposal point is on the side of the site furthest from the entrance not very handy at all. Possibly worth some further work. After my moan, still think it is a great location.
Try The Bell Hotel, opposite the Abbey, good food at lunch time, warm, comfortable friendly staff and pet friendly.
