Good for families

Not one of the clubs best by far

We stayed for just the one night (Sunday 20th Sept) and sadly we found that that was enough for us Don't cry Our allocated pitch (No 83) was right next to the toilet block for which the door to the Gents continually slammed every time somebody entered or exited and this we found to our dismay started as early as 6.15am and continued throughout the day to as late as midnight. In addition, the continual comings and goings of members using the sites one way system, which passed just meters from our caravan and the Abbeys bells chiming every 15 minutes resulted in quite a noisy stay for us. The location of the site is good with regards to it's close proximity to the splendid town of Tewkesbury, however a little worrying during a period of heavy rainfall and in particular with the areas history of flooding. Dog owners would appreciate the many dog walks (off site) but with the absent of any playground, this site would probably not prove suitable for young families. We found the wardens very friendly and accommodating and they appear to be very hard working when you look at the appearance of the site. There are no hard standings available and as others have mentioned many of the pitches become very wet/soft under foot during rainy days as we found for our visit. To sum up, I think we might be tempted to return as we love Tewkesbury, but it would only be for a couple of nights tops and we would definitely pitch well away from the toilet block and make sure we pack our ear plugs.
