Stayed here for two nights on our way home, so a perfect stopover point. Perfect location, not far off M5 and very close to town centre. The Abbey is right on the doorstep and worth a visit. Dogs are allowed inside. The town is close and very quaint with a selection of traditional style black & white pubs. Most welcome dogs, with the exception of the Old Hop Pole, a Wetherspoons establishment, where our way to the beer garden was barred and told in no uncertain terms that dogs weren’t allowed. There are nice walks by the river very close by. The new shower and toilet block is very good and very clean. Plenty of waste areas, all having a separate dog bin. The pitches are quite close together although I’ve seen worse. It wasn’t a problem as everyone was very friendly and we got to meet some great people. The landscaping of the site is quite good and will be better once established. We loved the creative use of old plastic bottles, cut open and planted with flowers fixed to the wall by reception. Top marks for recycling Staff are very friendly and constantly working on the site keeping it clean, tidy and presentable Overall, a lovely site in a great location
