Good lesson in how to ruin a lovely site!

We arrived on re-opening day, and could not believe that we were in the right place. All vestiges of the site that we visited last autumn has gone. Mature trees and shrubs have gone, to be replaced with pieces of turf thrown down haphazardly to create a trip hazard. One huge amenities block looms over one side of the site with a ramp at the opposite end to the disabled toilet/shower which, unhelpfully has a flight of steps right outside it! And yes, there is a slope where the grey water is discharged so if your drain is on the offside it will not completely empty! This appeared not to have been noticed by anyone from the Club who must have checked out the progress of this "refurb". This mature site overlooked by the abbey has been totally decimated and will take years to recover. I really do wonder if the designers of this revamp knew what they were doing!
