A Lovely Location

We arrived and received a lovely warm welcome from the wardens with a beautiful array of flowers on entrance to the site, due to the fact that it had been warm dry weather for sometime the grass pitches were more than adequate for our stay and nicely cut as was the whole appearance of the site. However on our visit to the toilet blocks we were more than disappointed. There is 2 very dated old style buildings on site. although cleaned daily are well past the need for a full refurbishment, broken toilet, cracked cistern, mound on ceilings, cubicle panels delaminates and very tatty, not what you would expect from a site of this value.

A great place for a stopover

This site was a stopover for us on the long trip back from Cornwall to Lancashire. Tewkesbury is ideally located just a few minutes off the M5 motorway and the Caravan Club site sits in the shadow of the magnificent abbey. Tewkesbury is a very pretty town with lots of old buildings, riverside walks and a number of inviting pubs.  It's certainly worth a visit in its own right. The site itself has all grass pitches, some of which are not suitable for motorhomes due to the soft ground.  The staff at the site were extremely friendly and helpful. Once you are booked in you are issued its a set of keys.  Toilet blocks need a key, the barrier needs a key and the pedestrian exit needs a key.  Guess there must be a good reason.. The facilities are in need of an update. This was especially noticeable having just come from a private site in Cornwall where everything was very modern.

Needs improvement

Nice site, well situated to see Tewkesbury. Plenty of pubs and eateries locally situated. Please can some money be spent on the toilet blocks, they are not dreadful, but are really tired and in need of updating to the standard CC club standard. This could be a great site with the help of some monies being spent. The staff are very welcoming and always ready to assist.

Not good value for money

Totally agree with previous reviews, this site's facilities are in serious need of updating. Pathetic showers in terms of heat and pressure. Pitches rather cramped. Expected better for the prices charged.

Update showers please!

This would have got more stars but the showers need updating urgently. It isn't peaceful but the bells and rugby club do not detract from the site. We missed them on returning home. Wardens very helpful and cheerful and the location is brilliant. Pitching is a bit cramped.

Tewkesbury

Beautiful site, beautiful area. Extremely helpful staff. Immaculate throughout. Will certainly return. Our dogs thought it amazing as well. Well our caravan is their holiday home, we are just the chauffeurs!

Great Site

This was our first time at Tewkesbury with our motorhome, we intended to stay one night but liked it so much we extended it to two. The staff were very helpful, the grounds were immaculate and the facilities were very clean with plenty of hot water when showering. We caught the bus to Cheltenham and enjoyed some shopping and on our return we had an evening meal in Tewkesbury. Look forward to a return visit to see the upgraded facilities etc.

Lovely site

I have stayed here for a week a few years ago & this time for a 2 day stopover. I don't have kids so cant rate it for that but other than the showers needing updating it is a lovely clean site with lovely wardens. I love the town & the history & happily walk around & down the alleys brimming with history. Somebody said too much traffic, but that is the same as any town these days. Great fields for dog walking & the Abbey bells ringing in the hour were not at all invasive. Yes I would stay again for stopovers and try to fit in a week sometime.
