Lovely site, too noisy!

Lovely site, security is good, Downfalls are the toilet door slam's shut with a loud bang every time some one goes in or out. We was on a pitch opposite the toilet block. On one occasion a lady walking her dog with a long leash allowed her dog to foul right is front of our hitch lock while she watching me watching her, Disgusting. People was using our pitch to take a short cut to the toilet block. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great Site & location

We stayed at Tewkesbury for the first time even though the site is not that far from where we live. One of the main reasons for not booking has been the very negative comments by other members about the site. We found the site to be in a great position, the wardens very friendly. The only slight negative is that the toilet blocks could do with a refurbish but the water was always hot in the showers. We really wanted to stay at least one more night but couldn’t because they were fully booked obvious testament to a popular site. We will return.

Lovely Site

Have visited this site on many occasions and have enjoyed it every time. However the toilet blocks are in need of updating and my wife asked me to add that in one of the toilet blocks the lock was not working correctly. The door could not be opened as the lock would not turn until it was turned back in the opposite direction and thus for anyone who is claustrophobic or panics this would have been a big issue. Otherwise this site is ideal.

Busy Site

Very well placed for people travelling to/from Devon and Cornwall - extremely busy - we stayed for 3 nights on our journey to Devon and 3 nights on the way back. Close to the abbey - easy walk into town - very friendly helpful staff - toilet blocks need upgrading but we will certainly visit again.

Busy Site

This is a very popular site.  We stayed two nights in mid September.  Abbey outside the site, with large park area where you can exercise the dog.  The wardens were fantastic, all very friendly and helpful.  Only negative is that in the toilet block we were near only had two showers in the ladies and three curtained sinks.  They also need updating and more showers as the site is so popular.  Two minute walk into town with lots to see and places to eat.  Will visit again.

Nice and close to town

This is a well kept all grass site, stayed for 5 nights. The pitches weren't in fantastic condition, guessing due to non- breathable ground sheets, the toilets do require updating and weren't the cleanest I've seen. There is some noise from the carpark adjacent and the abbey bells! However it is close to the town and plenty of pubs and restaurants. Good for visits to Gloucester and Cheltenham. Don't blame the wardens, lift your groundsheets and look after the amenties a bit better yourselves.

Still let down by Facilities and Cleanliness

We have stayed at Tewkesbury every year for about 8 years, and we have seen the condition of the toilets / showers slowly worsen. This year (16/09 to 18/09) they were close to disgusting. We can accept dated facilities but not dirty and smelly. We will not return until they are updated.  Shame as the location is excellent, but we will book an independent site next year.

Stopover

We just stayed one night as a stopover on our way to Devon. Ideally placed to walk into Tewkesbury & to walk the dogs in the park by the entrance. Very pleasant welcome from the wardens & yes the site was full and very busy.

The Rules require changing!!

A fantastic site plagued with dickensian rules & ruined by uncaring wardens. We were to meet our friends halfway between our home in Suffolk and there home in Cornwall, one of our Cornish friends who is disabled was hoping we could be pitched together so it would have been much easier for her to see us, being wheel chair bound. We arrived 2 hours earlier than them but alas it was not in any way allowed for us to either reserve or pay in advance so that we could hold the pitch next door to us. This site is perfectly laid out for the disabled but alas the regime isn't. We will have to meet up at a non Caravan Club site next time so it may not be worth us staying as members? Can anyone change or even stretch the rules when the disabled are involved???

Hi spent three nights at Tewkesbury fantastic location won't be going again until the caravan club put there hands in there pockets and spend our money and build new toilets they are old dirty and on the odd occasion you have to take the cistern lid off and try to get some water in so you can flush them been to cl's with better and cleaner toilets
