We stayed two nights at this lovely, well kept and well organised site at the beginning of July. Lots of nice places to visit nearby and Barney (the local name for Barnard Castle) is a lovely town with plenty of "old fashioned" shops to visit plus the very interesting castle ruins if you are so minded. "Barney" is a short walk from the site and can be done using the wooded footpath when dry enough underfoot. We made a day of visiting some of the wonderful sights in Teesdale such as the stunning High & Low Force waterfalls in the Middleton-in-Teesdale area which is only a short drive from the site. No problem with road noise and were on the top level. We plan to revisit the area and will certainly use this site.
