We have been to this site before and wanted to return so on our way to Wales from Edinburgh we stopped here again. Stayed an extra night to visit the Pleasure and Pain shoe exhibition which is amazing! Love this site - so clean and comfortable, a lovely size, well organised and the wardens are fantastic. (The showers are really good)! A pleasant walk to town (about 15 minutes) where there are restaurants, pubs, shops and the Bowes museum is a must. This time we caught the street market and the fish and chip van too. We definitely hope to return.
