The best welcome from a cc site...such helpful and friendly wardens giving out maps and details on how to get into town. It's a short 15 min walk in...bit longer back as uphill! We were pitched up by the little gate at the far end and did have some traffic noise but nothing to cause problems. The showers were great - clean and the cubicles spacious. I liked the fact there was a proper bench to sit on - far better than the little plastic stools. The hook just behind the partition was a great addition to hook a towel for easy reach plus I was grateful to see a grab rail in the shower - no more worries about falling over! We had a good day at Barnard Castle and had one day out to Raby Castle which was really lovely. We'd certainly return.
