First visit to this site. Compact size, good level pitches, and immaculate toilet block. Short walk into Barnard Castle ( 20 minutes) with a good range of pubs and restaurants. Well stocked information room, and the Wardens were very friendly and welcoming. A bit of road noise but not too disturbing. Excellently placed to visit the Bowes museum in Barnard Castle. Fascinating museum - stayed nearly 4 hours. Club site on the road to High Force waterfall and the beautiful Teasdale Valley. We also visited Hadrians Wall at Haltwistle - not too far to drive. We were delighted with our two night stay and plan to return soon to explore the area further.
