Returning again to Sunny Sutton

We have stayed here many times, WHY.? We live as far away from the sea as you can get in middle England and Sutton on Sea is within reach for a long weekend. We do not usually visit in August due to school holidays but sadly the C L next door has closed. (We paid our respects and offered condolences.) However, we were surprised at the level of quiet during our stay, noting the site was full to capacity. We noticed some children playing and chatting happily with each other, no evidence of noise from them. The same could not be said about the yapping dogs, whose owners seemed to think it ok by ignoring the constant noise doing nothing to stop them barking. Anyway the site is as noted by others, clean, tidy, welcoming, friendly wardens, neat and cared for pitches the list goes on. The facilities block is WELL PAST its sell by date and CC need to get on with a re fubishment. The site is situated on a lane from which you can visit the local nature reserve or walk out to the bus stop, about 10 minutes walk away or on through the housing estate onto the beach and high cycle/walkway onto Sutton itself in one direction or Hutoft Bank the other. The bus service to Skegness is not that reliable time wise and takes 1 hour. The same service also goes to Mablethorpe if you really want to go there. We enjoyed a cycle ride to Mablethorpe and saw the Poppies on the Beach flypast, very much enjoyed by thousands. If looking for a quiet traditional british seaside holiday without all the noisy amusements this is for you, if you want all the noisy razamataz, go to Skegness and Ingoldmells.
