Penny Pinching On Site

We store our caravan here and have used this site several times per year for weekends away since this site opened several years ago. There is lots to do in the area. A Toby Carvery a short walk away and more facilities at M&D's theme park with plenty for the kids to go also with bars and restaurants also a short walk away. We have stayed twice this year. They now have a new policy of no bins around the site. They now have a central collection point at the car park at the entrance to the site. Depending on where you are pitched, this could be a bit of a walk to the bins. They are saying that this has been required due to the amount of plastic bags they are using. At the cost of a pitch now at this site, I would say that the costs of bin bags should be more than covered. This seems to be a crazy decision that I don't think members will take well.

It's not just this site, its every site that is going to central bin points.  700,000 black bin liners is a lot of plastic and the club is doing their bit for the environment by wiping out using all this plastic.  Personally I don't have an issue taking my rubbish to the bin.  If you're too far away to walk, take it to the bins on your way out in your vehicle.  The other club has been doing this for years and if you go to a campsite abroad they all have central bin points.
