Good location for breaking a long journey
We stayed here on our way home from a Scottish road trip. We spent 2 nights here and did the walk around the country park, which was about 5 miles on mainly good paths. There is a section through woodland which, in June, was swarming with midges, so we were glad we'd covered up with insect repellent! The site itself is a standard club site with gravel pitches and concrete paths. As a wheelchair user, I found it to be largely accessible, though the gravel is always hard to get over. The accessible shower room was great - good size and clean. Others have mentioned road noise. Yes, the site is right next to a motorway on the outskirts of Glasgow, so you can hear traffic but it didn't bother us and we slept well. The birds put up pretty good competition with their loud singing, which was nicer to listen to. The Toby Carvery and the country park are within walking distance but there are no pavements and dropped kerbs are a bit hit and miss, so it wasn't easy getting to either by wheelchair. I had to wheel in the road which wasn't too busy but some drivers weren't driving at sensible speeds. Overall, we liked the site. Probably wouldn't have an entire holiday there but it's great as a stopover to break longer journeys.
