We stayed in Strathclyde as a halfway stop (as we have done in the past), it's easy to get to and in the Country Park. M and D's theme park is a good 15 minute walk away/3 min drive. The warden was very friendly and helpful on arrival. Maybe we hit it at an unfortuneate time but there were roadworks at the edge of the main road in and they started at 10pm and continued through the night. At one point the caravan was rattling. Luckily we were only there one night and we did manage to sleep and the kids slept through it but you may want to check if the work is on going if staying for longer. The site is clean and open. Depending where you pitch it can be a bit of a walk to the toilet block/play park. I would stay again but check the roadworks were finished.
