Nestled on the edge of picturesque parkland, Strathclyde Country Park Club Campsite is the perfect holiday location for the entire family. On-site facilities include a woodland walk, play area for young children, as well as modern family washrooms and disabled facilities. There are also a handful of pitches suitable for larger outfits, which can be arranged through the site staff.

The country park is a pleasant ten minute walk from the site, with 1,000 acres of mature woodlands, wetlands, wildlife refuges and neat open parkland, set around Strathclyde Loch, offering unique bird and nature watching, miles of walking and cycle routes, as well as a whole range of watersports and golf. There are also several sites of historic interest within the parkland, such as the Bothwellhaugh Roman fort and bath house, and the nearby M and D's Theme Park is a great day out for kids. The shops and museums of Glasgow are within easy reach of the site and, further afield, Loch Lomond, Stirling and Edinburgh are within an hours drive, making this site an ideal base for exploring Southern Scotland.

Two night visit

This was a great find for a stopover on the way to and from the north of Scotland. Close to the motorway the site itself was well laid out with good facilities. The staff I encountered were very helpful and knowledgable about the area. Would have no hesitation in rebooking... Show more

2 night visit in July 2025

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful with the exception of one lady member of staff at reception. Facilities are very clean, but would suggest that as only one toilet block is available that the cleaning schedule is organised slightly different so that both yhe male and female... Show more

Stay july 2025

We stayed here for 1 night on our way from the lakes into Scotland. Was an ideal place to break the journey. The staff and site are excellent. I'd already read that the site was noisy with traffic from the roads nearby and it was. I would definitely stay again for 1 night but... Show more

Good and Bad

Check-in Thur 3 July, the new system is causing the Wardens some issues, however, clients can be quite accommodating if there's a little lightheartedness. The English check-in staff were not very chatty or welcoming however I put it down to me being tired & a bit stressed & the fact... Show more

Shame about the wardens

Stayed for a night with my daughter who called from uni and I was very disappointed with the greeting from the lady warden in the office. Quite rude and abrupt, rather awkward and the Second Lady warden looked quite embarrassed and uncomfortable so I feel it wasn’t the first... Show more

Great place to overnight

Excellent sight to overnight when travelling to and from Scotland. The new system for checking-in is very good. The number plate recognition worked perfectly.
